Status of the issue.
Developments in the field of communications have led to the appearance of the BlueTooth module (hereinafter referred to as BT) in portable and car radios. Using it in equipment provides the user with many advantages. One of these advantages is the ability to quickly reprogram a radio station over the air.
There are often requests for help on the Internet to suggest how this can be done, since not everyone is able to implement it.
We present to your attention a brief description of the procedure for programming the APX2000 and DP4801 radios.
Step one:
Make sure that your radios are equipped with a BT module and are programmable using this interface.
Step two:
Make sure the VT module of your computer (laptop, tablet) is working.
It is recommended to install original drivers and software for maximum reliability of the implementation of all module functions. If necessary, download and install the required software. After installing the drivers and software, restart your computer.
Step three:
Activate BT modules on your devices. Make them “visible” to each other. Pair the devices. After pairing the devices, it is recommended to restart your computer.
Step four:
After the next reboot, make sure that the VT modules are active. On the taskbar, in the area next to the clock, select the VT icon. In the menu that appears, select “show devices” or “Join a personal network (PAN)”
Step five:
On the tab that opens with a list (symbols) of devices, select the desired radio station with the right mouse button and in the menu that appears, activate “Connect via” – “Access Point” . If you have done everything correctly previously, the computer will connect to the radio station, which will be indicated on the screen with possible sound (depending on the settings). The message “Connection successful” will appear on the computer screen.
Step six:
Launch the software (CPS)
Select Bluetooth communication method.
Read the radio station.
Warning: it is possible that reading the radio station will not be performed immediately. Error messages may appear on the screen regarding the impossibility of establishing communication with the radio station. In this case, check the indication on the screen of the radio station for the presence of an active connection via VT, and the presence of the “disconnect from network device” item in the program (this will indicate a successful connection to the radio station). If all signs of a successful connection are present, try reading the data again. The third attempt will probably be successful. In this situation, it is important not to rush.
This description of the procedure is based on personal experience.
Used CPS 16.01.02 for APX2000 and CPS 16……. for DP4801; HP 625; DP4801; APX2000

Addition:
First: It was noticed that after the first reading error, the connection is broken and the network between the station and the computer disappears. Naturally, this connection (PAN) needs to be restored.
Second: as a survey of colleagues showed, not everyone knows that the programming function should be enabled in the settings of the station, for example ARX. This may also be the reason for the inability to read and write it down.
